2025 District Workshops

Fall Events

This year, FSPA holds seven workshops throughout Florida, for students and advisers to jump start their school year and learn from local journalists, college professors, and fellow award-winning students. Typically held at colleges or universities, students also gain a small glimpse into what college is like and familiarity with a college campus.

Contests

Contests motivate and allow student journalists to showcase their work in a variety of categories, not such as writing, design, photography, art, broadcast and multimedia journalism. Judges assign a numeric score to each and provide written feedback.

Evaluations

FSPA produces nearly 200 annual evaluations for newspapers, yearbooks, literary magazines, broadcast programs and online publications with the focus of providing valuable feedback that will give students and advisers with a roadmap to improve their programs.

Annually, FSPA hosts workshops throughout the sate in Fall and a spring Convention in Orlando where students get the opportunity to learn from media professionals and college professionals and get motivated to make their programs better.
