Student Involvement

FSPA is an organization designed to help student journalists. To make sure we are best serving our members and the future of journalism, we seek involvement from students in many different areas.

Student Representatives

Application closes October 11, 2024.

Student representatives are high school juniors, elected annually in the fall from each of the seven districts. Along with the student chairs, representatives help plan the FSPA State Convention. Including creating the theme and logo and special event planning. This is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience and lend your talents to help the organization grow.

Student Chairs

Student Chairs are high school seniors that lead the group of student representatives in their state convention planning endeavors. Chairs are former representatives that are selected by the Board of Directors following the State Convention.

New Voices

Lend your voice to help protect student press freedom with a state law that safeguards students’ First Amendment rights.
